Empowered Women of Diaspora Honoured at the House of Lords
On 5 September 2025, Empowered Women of Diaspora proudly participated in a historic and prestigious occasion at the House of Lords, by invitation from the United Nations Global Peace Council, in partnership with the Diplomatic Mission Peace and Prosperity.
Having served as a Rotarian, I have long been inspired by communities that foster women and individuals who turn their passions into meaningful social causes, creating positive change locally and globally. At EWD, we celebrate those who lead with purpose, inspire others, and transform ambition into action that changes lives.
In a ceremony honouring distinguished members of the Albanian diaspora, Mrs. Ensuida Keputa was recognised with the prestigious Albanian Excellence Award, standing out among remarkable participants for her hard work, resilience, and lasting contributions to the community. As a senior accountant, entrepreneur, and founder of Empowered Women of Diaspora (EWD), Mrs. Keputa has dedicated more than 18 years to professional excellence while championing women’s empowerment and cultural heritage. Her recognition reflects not only her personal journey of sacrifice and achievement but also the values of leadership, solidarity, and impact that she continues to promote. The award celebrates her as a role model for the next generation a woman who embodies the spirit of Albanian excellence and proves that determination and vision can transform challenges into a legacy.
Empowered Women of Diaspora (EWD) had the honour of being invited to the Embassy of Kosovo in London to celebrate the successful completion of the Leadership Programme. This special occasion also marked the official introduction of our organisation, where we shared our vision, upcoming projects, and commitment to empowering women across the diaspora.
The event was not only a celebration of achievements but also a powerful moment to highlight how EWD will continue to create opportunities, foster leadership, and build bridges between communities for the future.
Empowered Women of Diaspora (EWD) had the privilege of participating in the International Conference in Albania, where leaders and experts gathered to discuss the country’s tourism development and its impact on economic and cultural growth.
Representing EWD, we were proud to contribute to the dialogue on how empowering women and fostering leadership goes hand in hand with national progress. Guided by our motto, “Wonder Woman Rise – We Rise Together,” we continue to champion opportunities that uplift women, strengthen communities, and showcase the potential of Albania on the global stage.
4th, 2023, London hosted Mrs. Universal Empire 2023, a prestigious celebration of women’s empowerment, diversity, and resilience. The event showcased remarkable women from around the world, offering a platform for leadership, self-expression, and meaningful community impact beyond traditional pageantry.
Among the honorees, Mrs. Ensuida Keputa made history as the first Albanian woman to participate in the competition, earning the title Mrs. Universal Empire London Star 2023. This recognition celebrates her leadership, dedication, and service, as well as her role as founder of Empowered Women of Diaspora (EWD), an organization committed to uplifting women who have achieved success through resilience and determination.
More than titles, the event championed the empowerment of women from all backgrounds, encouraging them to embrace their individuality while contributing to the greater good a mission at the heart of EWD.
I had the honour of serving on the organising committee for a very special event hosted by RCL and the City Livery Club in celebration of Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The occasion was made even more memorable by the presence of the Lord Mayor, Vincent Keaveny, alongside distinguished guests and community leaders.
Being involved in the planning of this historic celebration was not only a privilege but also a chance to reflect our shared aspirations to make a meaningful impact in our community.
It was truly a beautiful and unifying event, one that celebrated tradition while inspiring us all to continue working towards positive change.
Being part of the Diaspora Summit 2023 was a milestone for our diaspora community — a chance to reflect on our collective achievements and to build meaningful networks with our nation across the globe.
On 18 November we gathered for the Commonwealth Ball to honour the accession of His Majesty King Charles III and to celebrate his leadership of the Commonwealth. The elegant evening united guests from across the community in support of two vital charities: King’s College Hospital Charity (NHS) and BlindAid. We were honoured to participate and to contribute to the night’s fundraising efforts, helping to support patient care, medical research, and services for people living with sight loss.
